DFW is over 400 miles from the Gulf Coast, they do get extreme rain during hurricane season but nothing as hazardous as the hurricane ravaged coast.
3 :
probably the remnants of hurricane ike. Ike struck Houston/Galveston first.

There was one in Texas. Hurricane Ike. He was a Category 2 hurricane when he made landfall He didn't make a direct hit on Dallas, he weakened to a tropical storm with winds around 45mph when he was west of there. So the they just experienced a lot of rain and some wind. I don't think there was any significant damage.

Hurricane Ike hit Galveston and Houston early on Saturday morning. It did continue on up to Dallas-Fort Worth, but only as a fairly weak tropical storm. Power could be out from the winds. Ike was probably worse in the Ohio Valley than in Dallas-Fort Worth, though. Keep trying--the delay is probably because of power problems and trying to deal with the evacuees from the Coast.

it was a tropical storm when it went through dallas. so it pretty much just rained, and there was some wind.

above poster named JP is wrong dfw is only 250 miles from coast, but w/e DFW just got rain and wind, so if she lives in this area she is probably fine... the east side part of the metroplex (dallas side) got it much worse than the fort worth side, it basically just drizzled and was a little windy on the west side
